"Shogun" by James Clavell
Its super long and detailed, but if you like historical novels which are factual and filled with drama, action and love, this Japanese based novel is extraordinary. I couldn't put it down.
If you are interested in Japan, I would recommend getting a beginning Japanese language book too because there are a
lot of Japanese phrases in "Shogun".
