As for your first question, yes, there are some people out there that don't know how to be a good friend. To answer your next question, NO, my best friend is the man I married 25 years ago. However I do appreciate the unconditional love showed by many pets. As a child I would wrap my arms around my dog and cry whenever I was upset. He would just sit there and be my friend. Even now I can't help but ask for pony kisses from my dear friend "Justin Pony".

Hell yeah they are. Look at it this way. You always will have someone to talk to who doesn't judge you, someone who unconditionally love you. You have someone who will always be there waiting to here your next story. My hubby doesn't do half that stuff. My dogs have helped me through my depression. When I would cry for no reason they would hop up on the bed and remind me that someone does love me. Animals are very social. My dogs are my best friends. I can tell them anything and they would not backstab stab me like people would.

I think pets are a cheap rip off on love, friendship. You can care for them, but humans are naturally social, and people should be your real companions. A dog will not speak to you, or help you in depression, dog licking can be comfort, but not real help. Sorry, I just feel this way now, didnt't before, maybe cause my dog died as a kid?

yes ,pets makes us relaxed and calm down our stress easily rather than people's.even though they can't speak they can seek..
