yes ,there were several books written about her lifestyle , and also documentaries, once you've seen this lady she'll remain with you for ever , i think her books can be got on amazon, they were written a long time ago , the tv series was brilliant, she lived in isolation until she was discovered , and then toured the world . fantastic , a gentle and wonderful lady.

I know of her, she wrote two or three books about her life as a virtual recluse on the yorkshire moors. She didnt have any electricity or heating and the only money she had was when she sold a cow at market once a year! One of her books was called "Hannah" but Im not sure of the others. They shouldnt be too difficult to find.

Yes.She lived on the Yorkshire moors, with no electricity or running water. It was the family home for generations. Yorkshire television did a documentary on her about 10 years ago. There are quite a few biographies written about her also. I think she passed away a couple of days ago.

Hannah was the subject of a television series, (80s)The series was called 'Too long a winter' and was about her struggles to run her farm alone. She also wrote the book of the same title. Eventually she sold up and moved into a cottage in a village near her farm. In Yorkshire.

properly that's a sweet comic tale, and that i have worked on region some cases previous to now in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Hannah Hauxwell was the subject of the TV documentary 'Too long a winter' in 1973. She lived on her own on the family farm in Upper Teesdale. Her simplicity and way of life caught the imagination of the public and she became the subject of more programmes and books. She eventually had to leave the farm and moved into a cottage in a village in Teesdale.
