I live with my family, mom, dad and a little bro. I am 17 years old girl and have been going to nude beaches with out telling my parents for quite some time with my friends (girls). When ever I have a chance in my room I go naked. Now I want to tell my parents that I am a practicing naturist. I don't want to offend any one but I want to practice it at home. I don't know what would be there reaction. Should I first discuss with them and then do it or should I try to break ice by skipping some of my cloths at home so they can make up their mind first. I am a bit confused. Only serious anwers specially from practicing naturist people.

I agree with the previous response - this would be disconcerting for the parents, and potentially dangerous for your father, as there may be some unfair accusations made against him.

I would suggest following your current path until you're safely out of the house.

As a guy, I should also warn you that men in general will find this very sexually suggestive. Any male who you talk about this with will take it as a "come-on", and many will become almost desperate to set up a situation in which they get to see you naked. Don't take this lightly - I'm sure that it's fun and relaxing for you, but it could very easily turn into something much more serious if you're not careful. Be careful.

Firstly, Naturism is not a great name for anti-social behavior in the given context! If more people behaved as well as naturists do, the world would be a much better place! You can tell who the real naturists who've replied are here, by the maturity of their replies.

I would certainly discuss it with them first and see how they react. If they're happy with the idea then you could take it further but, from my own experience, they're not likely too!

However, when you're alone and at the beach you can be free to where as little as you like, and if you're going to University next year you'll have the freedom to choose your own lifestyle.

Good for you on being so confident in yourself and good luck!

Yes, I do practice naturism. I practice sometimes at home (alone) and I'm also a member of a local naturist club. It's just natural to take your clothes off and relax naked.

I am 16 and like you I live with Mum, Dad and younger brother.
I suggest you do what I did and talk to Mum. Explain how you want to be able to go nude at home, and then agree on a set of "rules". My Mum was very resistant at first, but eventually agreed to let me have some freedom within a set of rules where she felt I would be safe. My rules include:
*I can sleep nude (which I do) and I go to and from the bathroom nude (across the hall). But I must put on at least a pair of shorts or bikini bottom before going downstairs into the rest of the house
*I can swim topless in our pool if I choose, but not nude. I have skinny dipped a few times when I have been home alone but Mum has recently forbidden me from doing this.
* If I am topless in the presence of friends then there is no touching (I have no prob with this)
* I have to be fully dressed if M&D's friends come over (although I can swim topless with my friends
* I don't let anyone take photos of me topless or nude (never know when they might come back to haunt me) This was actually my rule. In putting it forward it helped to show Mum I was being sensible and made her more comfy.
* If I am uncomfy being topless or nude at any time I get dressed.

Good luck talking to your parents
B

Unfortunately, our society stigmatizes nudity pretty strongly. I guess it depends how open your parents are and what their belief system is. If they are uncomfortable with it then you might have to stick with practicing it in your room or when you're with your friends. No harm in asking, though, unless you think they would try to step in and interfere with your practicing naturism when you're outside the house.

I definitely think it's great that you're that comfortable with your body and self at such a young age.

I would call a family meeting maybe a Sunday afternoon after a good meal. Explain to them how you have learn a lot of information from the AANR web page and you are not the first person to go around naked at home. there is no need to tell them about the nude beach unless you are a christian.

Well, when living with anyone, wether they be parents or a roommate, you have to be respectful of their beliefs and what their comfortable with, in the common areas of the home. I would think for now, sure you could tell them, but I doubt the reaction would be a positive one. For now I would suggest keeping it restricted to your room, as you have. If you don't plan on moving out for a long time, then yes, discuss it with them, but if you are moving away for college or the such, I think I would just keep it to myself for now.
