Well, neither of them are much good now but Pele was probably the better player overall, Maradona had a few great moments.
In this equation you should not forget Johan Cruyff either, also a master player.

I'm italian and i saw maradona here in the NAPOLI football team....i think that Pele is the king of football,but maradona is the prince....W ITALY !!!!

Pele was more agile and athletic.Maradona was more into football skills like excellent ball control etc.
