Take the time to go to a shelter and pick one out if your are serious. You need to see how you and they interact and be pre-screened before you can bring your new pet home. There are so many good cats and dogs being put to sleep each year because people want to buy pure-breeds, or buy pet on line or whatever. Why not give a shelter animal a chance????

Don't ever buy a pet online. they can be ill, have behavioral prblems or have long term health problems that might not be immediately noticeable.
Always go to a rescue, they have animals that have been given to them for a number of reasons - perhaps their owners can't look after them ( too old or emigrating), kids don't want to look after them / got bored. Most will have been neutered and vaccinated And will have had a full health check before they are even put up for rehoming. A good rescue will point out they will not rehome to children but the adults must take full responsibilty. Breeders do not guarantee their 'stock'. So you may take on a ill animal without realising. Some rescues will also give you six weeks free insurance against illness. Give an unwanted animal a home. Rescues will always be there to support and give advice anytime you need. Also you will give much needed funds with your donation. Rather to give to a charity than to a business. Hope it all works out for you. Good luck.

You probably can but i wouldn't recommend it. When buying a pet it is important to look at the environment it has been kept in. If buying a young animal then you should see the animal with its mother, if possible. This will help you to get an idea of how the animal has been treated, what it's temperament may be like as an adult and if it is lively, as young pets should be, or if it appears to be sickly and underdeveloped.

You can buy African clawed frogs online...giant african land snails, that sort of thing. Pets that survive the post are few and far between.
I hope people don't sell cute and fluffy online and post it :-S

You can, but it's a real crapshoot. We have bought rabbits online, and gotten sick ones, aggressive ones, etc. We have also gotten really good ones, like the one we have now. It depends on the reputation of the breeder.

I wouldn't. I would like to see the animal, and know something about it before purchasing.
