Sg Wang Plaza, KLCC and it's park + Mid Valley. Don't miss our local food at Saloma Restaurant, near Sg Wan, but you have to take a taxi there. Other great food : Roti Canai (man made bread), Nasi Lemak (spicy), locak mamak food (indian muslim spicy food) and char oay teow (chinese fried noodle). You will love them. If you like buffet style, try Jogoya in Star Hill MYR 80++ per person. Expensive, but worth it.

its depend on what you wanted to buy, your budget, preference, taste etc, but shopping is fun, so just drop into any shopping mall n enjoy your shopping if you have the luxurious of time, of course buying something which you can't find back home is the better choice
As for good food, you can find it anywhere ! be it chinese, malay, indian, western or just anything that should taste good, try for yourself as its very cheap but do make sure the place is clean n with good hygiene practice [ the toilet should tell ] !

Shopping mall --> KLCC. Although window shopping is recommended as most of the stuff there are for high end buyers... sad, I know.
Food?
It's hard to pinpoint just one as anywhere in K.L. serves great food.

must it be a shopping mall??? i mean like there's a lot more of good food around petaling street area... nearby there's timesquare, if you want to go shopping.. i personally prefer sunway pyramid and mid valley... Around SS/2 there's also a variety of food...
if you go melaka, go jonker street. things there are very cheap, and their ice-kacang and cendol is fabulous!! melaka has also the best chicken rice balls!!!
