Besides Canada, since it is pretty different country from the U.S.. is America still friendly place for its citizens and the world?

Do you feel the Americans are still warm and polite, and generous?

If there is (are) something you feel comfortable/ uncomfortable about dealing with the Americans, what is it?

Oh I think on the whole America is still friendly and the American people are warm and generous, albeit not quite as friendly as they used to be, but fear does that. They're still worried and wary and who can blame them, frankly the world has gotten alot scarier since 9/11.

Despite what you see on Yahoo Q&A sometimes, America is a very friendly place. Still, the Canadians can teach Americans a lot about humanity. Canada is one of the greatest places on earth for friendship.

Americans tend to divide people into categories, even when they can't see them. They base their responses on the categories they've developed in their minds, not understanding that people can share many views and interests no matter where they come from. When you approach an American make sure you smile first before you talk.

The warm smile and kind words of a Canadian often melts away any at the actions of most difficult people.

The world debates their politics and participation in the world, and they debate it too. When I visit, I'd say ya, they are generally friendly. They're a bit more business and materialistic oriented, and generally speaking, they really don't know much beyond their own country, except if they're involved. Most are generally pretty freindly though, and I found their car drivers more polite than Canadian drivers. There are some mean rotten disrespectful people in every country, so there are some people to avoid, don't trust everyone, but with just normal common sense, you'll be ok. Especially if you're polite and respectful, by far most of them are good to you too. Most are really good. Enjoy ! :)

All I got to say is southern hospitality. I recently was stationed in Germany and all the friends I made over there were suprised by us guys from Alabama's manners. I blame the media. You never hear of the good things in America on CNN.

Americans have always been friendly and open. That has not changed. The Media has changed, the people have not. Americans are always first to come to someones aid or help where we can.

Heck yes. We get our dander up when we are wronged, and I do when we are attacked, have war declared on us and such. On a one on one basis though, we are a very friendly and caring nation.

Please don't let Dictator Dumbya ruin the impression of the USA for you. We have an installed unelected government, but we are trying our best to change that.
