Husband and I have been invited to a adult (no kids) halloween party and need to find costumes. We have never been to costume party for adults only. Question is, what is appropriate for adults only? We don't want to pick something very g-rated and have everyone else wear more of an adult themed costume and feel out of place. We also don't want to show up with something too sexy that we also feel out of place. Any suggestions that kind of fall in the middle?

Both of you should dress up in Satin White leotards that they use for Ballet. and get a white shower cap and pain it white and put glitter gold on it. Put baby oil on your face and put Gold gliotter all over your face, but keep it away from your eyes.
You will both look awesome.

Look at Spencers in the mall, they have all kinds of crazy adult only costumes there, but go soon because they sell out quick! Last year I saw a condom costume, slave/S&M/Man on a Leash costume, male Gynocologist, and some other really funny ones. Good Luck!

If you're not on a budget, try buycostumes.com. They have a huge selection of couples outfits.
If you need to be thrifty, here are some choices:
Pirates - cut up some old clothes or visit a thrift shop, pirate patch, cheap sword, and pirate hats
Vampires - black or Burgundy clothes (the fancier the better), with gothic jewelry, some blood, fake bite mark on one of your necks, and vampire fangs.
Greeks - toga! (cut up some old sheets and spray paint some leaves gold to wear on your head)
