My husband and I went out this morning to do lawn work, noticed a few, and within an hour or two, we had to go back inside. They are flying into our faces, hair, crawling on us. There are just clouds of them, I can barely see out of the windows of my house because they are stuck to the house. What does this mean? I live in Western New York, it is a nice 75 degree day. Did they just hatch, are they looking for someplace to stay for winter, what?? And I swear that they can bite, do they??? I know they are good for the environment, and good luck, but this is too much. Hey, maybe we should play the lottery today!

Im betting they are asian bettles, not really the typical "lady bug", Are they more orange then red? If so they are asian beetles... they tend to swarm in the fall, they will leave black spots on windowsills, lamp shades, anyplace they gather and poop. we had them bad when we lived in a older home several years ago... and then again they would swarm around our french doors at another house, I guess there were just tiny little holes they could get into. and NO you cant box up and sell asian beetles. Good Luck

Since winter is coming they are looking for a warm spot. The only thing you can do is spray around everything.I use malathion,it helps but will not completely stop them. And yes they do bite at this time of the year.If you have them in the house use your vacuum attachments,if you want to release them again(ha ha)put and old nylon in the tube and secure it with a rubber band.Good luck!

Plague of aphids, followed by plague of ladybugs. They should fly off in search of food, or die. The large ones, in particular, can bite - it's like being pricked by a needle. Strange thing, some people, they ALWAYS bite, others, they don't - I guess some people must taste like a greenfly!

My husband says they've started a colony. The most humane thing to do is call a beekeeper. He'll release bees which will kill them. In a couple days, the beekeeper comes back, and smokes the bees back in and takes them back with him. Also, praying mantises are another natural enemy to a ladybug.
Good luck!

Catch them and sell them, they are so good for gardens they eat pesty bugs. Places farm ladybugs and sell them and send them thru the mail, send me a bunch, if you can add comment and I will give my e address so we can hook em up.

They'll move on soon, just be patient , just be thankful you don't have a billion aphids swarming your house.
