In American history movies I have seen, they sold the slaves at around $50. These days, that would probably amount to a few thousand dollars.
Either way, selling a human being is an unforgivable sin. People back then were so ignorant...

What is of greatest interest is the difference between their value to their employers and the amount their employers paid them. There have been many studies, which suggest that employees are paid far less than they are worth and that this difference increases with the IQ of the employees. For example, the differential between what a dentist is worth and what he or she is paid is far greater than that for his or her secretary.

At least the African slaves got room and board. This is more than can be said for homeless people, who are homeless in spite of all the work they do begging.

Depends on who they were.. they sold men more expensive then they did the women, men of different sizes were different prices, and the children were a bonus.. it's hard to give a dollar figure when the price ranges were so different.

It's good to learn history so that we learn from our mistakes and we don't repeat them.. it's not good to dwell in it, otherwise we never move on
