I visited a Steak n Shake in Iowa City & it was great. I didn't have to wait long and the sandwich I ordered was good. I do have to admit the fries did suck. They were too small.

I don't know... you should in that large of a city. Sorry your fries sucked... my kids usually order the cheese fries and really love them.

While I can't definitively answer that, there's even a Steak & Shake in Waterloo, IA! I'm suprised Omaha doesn't have one yet. They're a lot bigger than W'loo.

sounds like a business opportunity for someone to open a franchise. steak and shake is very hit or miss geographically. don't know exactly why.

If they are following food specs, this should not be a problem. As a former manager, I can assure you that the managers are required to check temperatures on the food every two hours. They are also required to train all workers on safe food handling and hand washing. So, what may have happened is that you either had a bad experience, or it came from another source.
