Knowing the history of the Bush family will help you understand who our current president is. and why he does the things he does. Most people would say that it is imperative to study history so that we may learn from the past and use that knowledge to help shape a better future. If we don't study the mistakes that people in the past have made, we are likely doomed to repeat them. Also, by studying the successes of the past, we can gain direction for the future.

As humans, we are creatures of habit. We learn and repeat things. In the process we make mistakes. By learning history, we learn of the past--which things worked and which didn't. We have cases to study to guide us into the present and the future.

Studying history becomes imperative if there's something we'd like to change. By applying ourselves to the study of history and changing what we'd like to change is applying the Law of Inertia. We set into motion a new direction for our future instead of becoming stuck in our present condition.

Our desire becomes our thoughts. Our thoughts becomes our emotions. Our emotions become our actions. Our actions become our habits. Our habits becomes our character. Our character becomes values. Our values become our destiny.

Interest in the subject....find something in history that has your interest and learn about it.

I say this because I had a history professor many years ago that was basically monotone and uninterested in what he was teaching. When we got to the part of history that had his interest, he suddenly became animated and excited about that era. When it was over, he was back to monotone and boring.....
