Really there are several possibilities of good choices, and there are also several possibilities for bad choices to. Jamaica is a place where your resort really does matter. This isn't a place where you go and say "It doesn't matter where we stay". International standards are very different from the US standards. A 3 star there is not the same as a 3 star here.

There are a few areas you can stay in Jamaica such as Montego Bay, Whitehouse, Runaway Bay, Negril and Ocho Rios. Never stay in Kingston!

The hotel that is right for you though I could only determine by asking you some questions, because one hotel is right for one person isn't for another. When going there you want to stay in an All Inclusive, but there are very few that aren't All Inclusive anyways. I would have to ask questions of you not only to determine the right properly for you, but the right part of Jamaica you would enjoy most. They are all so very different from one another.

All Inclusive means all meals and beverages; however there are some resort chains here that include more than just this. Where you stay to will determine the quality of food, service, security, beverages and activities you have.

I have been to Jamaica and absolutely love it there! In fact they are the 2nd top honeymoon destination so I would say you have made a good choice in destination for a place to go on a vacation.

I would be happy to help you with the travel arrangements if you would like to email me then I can send you my contact info. It wouldn't be good of me to just start listing off resorts though, because I really am serious when I say until I know a few things I can't give you an honest recommendation.

No matter how you go about booking this even if it wasn't through me I strongly would advise working with a good travel agent. Like any profession there are good and bad. You want an agent that is going to be completely honest with you and well some agents aren't in hopes of making a quick, easy and painless sale for themselves. I on the other hand will be completely honest, because I want you to have a great vacation. If you don't, then you will come back and be upset with me. Hey I never want that! =)

It depends on what you are looking for.
There are great resort for Couple or Adults only...while other are more geared towards Families. Some are good for both. Your price range can include or eliminate many of the resort.
If you want the nicer beach area I would recommend the Negril Area.

Montego Bay is good if you don't want to travel long distances.

Ocho Rios is nice if you wanted to tour the Falls.

Let me know if I can help you with any other questions or help you with pricing. I've been to Jamaica 7 times and absolutely love the island

Most people will probably say any of the Sandals, Beaches, or Couples resorts, but we stayed at the Jamaica Grande Resort in Ocho Rios and it is wonderful! I'm basing this on amenities, helpfulness of staff, location, etc. Our room was right on the beach...will about 500' from the beach. The restaurants in the hotel were superb and the wait and hospitality staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

But it really depends on where you are going...Ocho Rios? Montego Bay? Negril?

Any of the all inclusive resorts in Jamaica will be excellent. Typical names like Sandals, Beaches, Couples and Hedonism if you have a wild side. If you don't want to go all inclusive try any of the Holiday Inn's as they are just as good in Jamaica as in the United States.

I tell you what, some of the best places to stay are on a Sandals resort. There is plenty of room for everyone and once you pay the up front cost of actually getting there, all your meals and alchohol are paid for. My wife and I went there for our honeymoon and we figured out we would have paid more for going and staying at Hawaii. They are all over the island. Depending on what you are hoping to see while you are there, you can choose one close to what you want to do. The one in Grand Ocho Rios is only 10 minutes from Dunns River Falls.

BE CAREFUL, there are many bad places to stay. Go through your travel agent. Beaches and Sandals are the best, great security and extremely nice people. Plus, drinks and food 24/7. Dunns River in Ocho Rios is one of the nicer resorts. I have been to all and it is my favorite.

If you're a AAA member, check with their travel specialists. Hotels.com is a good website as well.

I've stayed a few different places using those 2 companies/sites.
