Hi there I was adopted my mom passed away when I was 3 I am now 27. Its all up to you I wanted to meet my dad because I wanted to know medical history. If you were born in Illinois then you can contact the Midwest Adoption Agency in Springfield,IL but only if you were involved w/DCFS. Have ever asked your adoptive parents info. about your biological family? I would just ask your parents info all you need is names and states and go from there I wish you good luck and if you do find your birth family be careful sometimes its not what you expect.

Why not? I doesn't mean that you are betraying your adoptive parents, you deserve to know where you came from...if you are curious. If you aren't then leave it at that. My friend just went through something similar and he was elated when he found out things about his bio mom that he never knew and now intends on meeting her. He understands that she did what's best for him, and they will be friends...but his adoptive mom will always be his "real" mom. I think it would be nice to see what things you have in common. Best of luck!
