We have one in our back yard with a lot of grey ones. Is this odd?

There are a lot of them in Ohio too. They are a little smaller than gray or red squirrels but they tend to be more aggressive. Over time as their populations grow they will chase the other (Gray and Red) out of the area.

I've seen black squirrels in Michigan. They seem smaller than the grey or red squirrels.

I saw a black squirrel years ago in Arlington, Virginia. I have never seen once since then. I have also seen a albino squirrel, and that was odd to me too. I am use to the red squirrels and I use to have one feed from my hand.

yes i have seen black squirrels but they are kinda scarce.I havent seen one for several years.they are more rare than flying squirrels.

i live in Michigan and there are alot of black ones in northern Michigan few but not rare

No I haven't - I never knew they existed. I bet it is very rare - you ought to contact the RSPCA
