My wife and I just had our third child. This baby came very quickly, only about 25 minutes from water breaking to delivery. We did not have time to make it to the hospital so I called 911. Everything worked out just fine. We went to our hospital via an ambulance. The hospital was about 10 miles away.

I am trying to figure out how much money to put aside to cover the ride, it is a 50% deductable from our insurance. Does anyone have a ball park idea of what it costs? I am guessing at least a few thousand. Does that sound right?

Where I live (Ohio) it can cost anywhere from $300-$500 depending on what the ambulance charges.

It depends on your insurance and where you are. Where I live it is only about $400 for the ambulance ride. I would get your best answer by calling the hospital and finding out from them just what it is going to end up being for just that part of the procedure. Congratulations on your new arrival!

Dependinig on your area, a ride can cost as much as $600-700. If your insurance has a 50% deductible, you should safely set aside around $400, just to be safe.

In 2001 I took a ride in an ambulance 12 miles away...it cost me 400 dollars.

I dont think yours will be a few thousand, that seems high.

Call the 800 # on the back of your insurance card to know for sure. I wouldn't even know! I thought that some things were covered 100% for ambulance rides. This sounds like one of them! Congrats on new baby! I so miss that age!

Back in 1995, it cost somewhere in the area of $300. Can you believe this? It must be about $500 now.

It depends on where you live. My guess is at least a thousand. Call the hospital and ask their information service. They should know the exact amount.

Congrats on your baby, btw!
