I see AM broadcast diminishing around here. Many stations have turned off their AM transmitters and converted to FM. I suspect in major centers where the FM band is already full and there is demand for more stations that the AM band will fill in the gap for some time to come. I've heard there are ethnic type stations starting to occupy AM when they are unable to find a channel on the FM band.

Its end is coming, but I'd give it longer than 4 years.
