I don't know how far you got, but the father went totally psycho and was trying to kill his wife and son. It depends on which version you were watching the one with Jack Nicholson or the one made for TV. The one made for TV with Rebecca DeMornay I thought was better and was closer to the book. In the movie, the father followed the boy out into the maze and the boy made it through and the father froze to death out there. The guy with The Shining came back and got the mother and son and they drove out. The TV Version the guy came back and the father knocked him out. He chased the mother and son around and close to the end he gained some of himself back and realized he hadn't released the pressure from the boiler. He told his wife and son to get out and he went down to the basement to the boiler. The wife and son got the other guy(can't remember his name) and the drove off. Danny(the son) knew that his dad was going to die. The ghosts tried to get the father to release the pressure, but he finally stood up to them and stood there and let it explode which also destroyed the hotel. That's about all I remember from both. I hope that was an okay description for both.

it depends on the version you watched. Jack Nicholson's version is far superior than the usa movie one in my opinion. in jack's version, jack torrence chases wendy and doc out into the maze. they find thier way out, due to all the time that they spent in there when they were bored. jack doesn't and he freezes to death. in the other version (which by the way is exactly like the book, just in case you're interested) Jack doesn't follow them into the maze. he fights the ghosts of the house in his head and holds them back, long enough to blow the outlook sky high. i am not sure how this works, not having a furnace myself in la but something to do with the pressure valve? anyway, wendy and doc move on. the movie ends at doc's college graduation where he is giving a speech and in the end he says something along the lines of thanks to my dad for showing how much his family meant to him. he died so i could be here today, or something along those lines. hope this helps.

Emily is right up to a point. The family survives and Jack dies. The end of the movie shows photographs of parties which occurred during the 1920's. Jack is among the revelers in the photos. The hotel has consumed Jack's soul so it has become a permanent part of the hotel.

If I remember properly they are the two at her domicile and there's a hurricane. by some means they finally end up interior the storage. i anticipate alex became going tocontinual away and an electric cord gets cut back from lightning and he get very much shocked and falls in a puddle of water and something occurs to her yet they the two stay.
