No we have no alter-ego.. we have a super-ego this is similiar to the consience, it is a outgrowth of the taboos and moral values of our society as interpreted by our parents. It aims to inhibit desires that are regarded as wicked or immoral.
we also have a ID this is the seat of primative instincts such as sexual and aggresion drives. This part of our personanlity wants what it wants now. It is the first system to appear in a child.
Now the ego is gradually developed to help the child attain gratification in a realistic and socially acceptable manner. The ego employs reason and logic and is concerned with helpin the person survive in the world..
I hope this information is helpful..

My "alter-ego" is who I use when I make up stories. She's got some qualities that I wouldn't want, but she's got some that I would, too. She's not there to hide what I am, but who and what I am wouldn't be dancing off defying death and having adventures probably.

apparently I do

my spouse says I behave to her one way and very differently to others

maybe it's how I wish to be seen and comfortable with who I am around family

I only wish to be accepted, and often morph to something I am not but don't do same for family, under the assumption I am head of house and don't care

I am changing my views, I am not head of house but co-habitor and we all need to get along and be for real all the time

Kinda. I am pretty easy going and it takes a lot to make me mad. But when I am I can be quite nasty.
