IRELAND -Nice restaurant- in the midlands?

Hi its my birthday next week and its the first year Ive had a car to be able to travel to go for nice meal. Im living in Laois. Does anyone know a really nice restaurant in the Laois area. Or Carlow Tullamore, Kilkenny. Have you heard of Fiachra House. Do you know if it is closed down? thanks

I went to a fantastic restaurant in Laois, can't remember the name of it - was up some stairs on the main road.

Fantastic host and the food was delightful
