The best thing you can do is call an agency that uses forensic science. Ask them what their requirements are for that position. I had to do that to make sure that I didn't waste my time in school and it worked out great.

Chemistry is the exact degree you need for forensic Scientist! They spend hours in labs running tests etc. Many chemistry majors that decide not to go onto medical school choose to go out into forensic science. They are also in HIGH demand and make great salaries.

At my school chemistry is one of the preferred degrees for admission into the forensic science masters program. The other degree is biochemistry.
