If you do you'll realize you'll be taking most of the same classes you'd be taking as an English Major. I'm a senior English Major and I have Mass Communications majors in almost every class that I'm required to take. So you might want to do a totally different major that isn't English OR Mass Communications if its that bad.

I don't think you are the first to have had that idea, judging by the standard of English on Yahoo. I can't imagine why anyone would find English boring. It's an amazing language with a very rich vocabulary and wonderful literature.

Actually English Language is the most important subject & it's necessary if you want to take up Mass Communication. I'm speaking for those who're studying in Singapore.

That's akin to asking if you need biology and chemistry to be a pre-med major. However, this should make it more interesting for you:

You cannot hope to do well in any communications field without total mastery of the written and spoken word. Success in journalism, advertising, broadcasting, and any other related field is dependent on your ability to express yourself clearly, succinctly, and with impact.

So if you do not care for English then is this really the right field for you? You should think very carefully about it before you pursue your studies further.

If you still insist on writing, "the reason is because", then you need to stay in the English class.

"the reason is that" is correct.
