I hardly drink but when i do i generally drink Jack Daniels and coke or smirnoff ice. Last night i had tremendous pains in my stomach almost like heart burn but a lot more painful. I had to race to the toilet and i was sick - and it was charcoal stuff that came up - which worried the life out of me. Sometimes though i can go out and drink more than i did last night which wasn't much and feel fine. I'm wondering if it's anything serious . I'm thirty next year !
thanks
Daza

Irritable bowl syndrome is a problem of the bowels.

Your problem was with your stomach...you were sick. For whatever reason...perhaps your body is telling you not to binge drink any more.

Alcohol can upset the lining of your stomach and may cause stomach ulcers or irritation of your gullet all of which can cause you to bleed internally...suddenly or without any knowledge.

Do not panic....If you vomit fresh blood and lots of it...you must go straight to your casualty...but on the other hand old blood tends to turn chocolate brown or black..this would indicate a long term problem. Possibly the cause of the colour of your vomit or perhaps the mixer.

However any silent internal bleeding is usually evident in your stools....they get darker and more smelly.

So if you continue to suffer indigestion or can relate to the above facts there would be no harm in seeing your GP.

There would be more harm in carrying on with your drinking habits and ignoring the possible warning sign.

But perhaps last night was an almighty bender for your body but your brain thought overwise.

These are not signs of irritable bowel, but I would be concerned with the charcoal vomit. You may have a bleeding ulcer that is irritated by the harshness of the alcohol that you consumed. Go to the nearest ER and get checked out, better safe than sorry.

Not irritable bowel.
Gastritis is the most likely cause. The other things are ulcer and pancreatitis ( rare but dangerous ).
Now, that is a different story
If you are bleeding from your stomach and you actually can see fresh blood coming out of your bottom then i am surprised that you are chatting here. You should go immediately to ER.

Firstly - Cut out Aspartame! (Sounds like Aspartame poisoning)

Secondly - Drink Water.

Thirdly - Take Aloe Vera Drinking Gel

Finally - Tell your Doctor NOT a Q&A forum.

Doesnt sound like irritable bowel to me, more like a stomach ulcer, The charcoal stuff you describe is possibly old blood from a bleed somewhere. You need to get it checked out asap.

No it's not an irritable bowel, you could see your doctor but the charcoal colour could come from the JD and coke, it could be just a mix of these alcohols that brought this purge on, if anything happens again go see the doc.

hi, it`s not that serious but sometimes the food that you ate before you start drinking can cause alot of what is going off inside you.

some drinks are not capable of drinking with foods such as curry, spicy and oily so next time when going out drinking remember to watch your diet.

Black vomit means that toxins in your liver were involved. Sounds like alcohol poisoning and you should probably take a good look at your drinking habits. Seems like you could be lying to yourself when you say "I hardly drink..."

Charcoal you say? Either it's dried blood or you've been consuming Pepto-Bismol...it sounds like a one-off but check to see if it happens again. See how you feel this week and if you have more trouble - see a doctor.
