ABC made a mistake by cancelling Invasion after LOST just as NBC made a mistake by cancelling SURFACE and they both could be put on SCI FI Channel rather than just killing good shows. What are your views? I heard a rumor that this is the final season for LOST and they are going to have a short season and wonder if this is true?

Lost is my favorite show and the best show on television IMO. The production value of the shows are so high and it takes them so long to film each one, that they ended up having a lot of breaks last year and showed a lot of repeats. This pissed people off - so this year they are going to show 6 new episodes (the first one was last week) and then they are going to take a break and the starting in February and running until May - they will have back to back episodes with no breaks. It's a gutsy move, but I think people will be happier in the long run. At least when they return it will be a solid run of new episodes instead of going back and forth.

Lost is doing phenomenally well for ABC. They don't need to hype it because it hypes its self. Its a networks dream come true.

If it is the final season it would only be because the creators are ready to wrap it up, which I seriously doubt. There is absolutely, positively, without a doubt no danger of the show being canceled. It has great ratings, great word of mouth huge buzz, everything ABC could possibly want so they won't be canceling it.

As for you other "question". At the end of the day TV is a business. Yes I liked Invasion and Surface, but it doesn't really make much sense to take a struggling show and put it on a struggling cable channel. SCI FI has also long taken the stance that if it were to pick up some of these shows that people seem to think would be at home on the channel then they wouldn't be able to develop and show as much original programing. Would you have taken Surface in place of BSG?

No, sorry the rumor about Lost is not true. It will begin with six straight weeks of episodes, then take a 12 week break. After that, it will come back for another 18 straight weeks. The creators have always said that Lost will last around 5 seasons or so. As far as ABC not trying to "hype up the series", I feel it doesn't need to. There are plenty of fans out there who love the show, and that is good enough advertising for them.

My universal concept replaced into that each and every physique is in purgatory, and could locate peace with their previous by using their studies on the island -- so while a character "dies", they have chanced on peace. this concept replaced into bourne out by how Boone died, and by the surreal and cathartic studies on the island. It additionally defined why crusing far off from the island introduced you back to it -- it quite is not likely interior the international. regrettably, this has been shot down by the manufacturers confirming that it's not real! additionally many of the character deaths have not been after quite substantial advancements of their thoughts; working example, the two tailies Michael shot have been dispatched without lots fanfare and without substantial own substitute on the instant formerly. I extensively utilized to suspect that the island replaced into noticeably further North than the characters think of, particularly given the polar undergo and the radio indicators interior the North Atlantic, yet because they have defined the presence of the bears that concept does not have any specific power.
