what is "rockabilly retro" for women?

i've got a photoshoot on 10/21 and i wanted some ideas as to what to wear...etc. i have no clue what rockabilly retro is?!

Rockabilly isn't 1980's fashion, more like 1950's...I'm not an expert but I think plaid skirts were in then.
