You have the equation of a line. You need two points to define it. Plug in two values for x and plot those points... draw the line that runs through them.
x= 0 --> y = -2, so there is the first point (0,-2)

plug any random numbers in for x (-2,-1, 0, 1, 2 are good because they are easy.) Make a t chart for x and y. Solve the equation with replacing those numbers for x. Then write in the numbers in the t chart as an ordered pair. so it would be (-2,-10) (-1, -6), (0, -2), (1, 2), (2,6). Then graph them on a graph. Remember (x, y)!

It's a straight line, because it's in the form of Y = mX + C
just take any value for x, and plug it into the equation. let's say x=0, so y should be -2 at that point. the first co-ordinate is (0, -2).
take another x value, x=1, so y = 2. second co-ordinate is (1,2)
draw a line between these.
btw this method ONLY works for straight lines.

you say x=0 and you write y=4*0-2=-2
so you have A(0;-2)
then y=0 0=4x-2 4x=2 x=1/2(fraction)
so you have B(1/2,0)
and you draw them on the graph
the result should be a straight line

Make a coordinate grid. Put on point at (-2, 0). Put another point at (2,1) Draw a line through them.

start by putting a point on -2 on the xaxis. then whenever u move to the right once you move up 4 times and put a point there... keep doing this then make a line thru them.

oh ur doing linear equations. i hated those too. make up a number for x like 1, 2, 3. plug it in, solve for y, and do the equation.
