Where i lived trick-or-treaters didnt come..but since we moved we are going to be givers.I think the people who dont give dont like kids, are too lazy to get up every 5 seconds to answer the door, or cant afford all that candy!

Give them candy! It's the one time of the year when strangers give each other gifts, why ruin it?
I live in a dorm, but I'm planning on skipping the parties (at least the trick-or-treating part of the night) and staying in on Halloween night because we have an outreach program where little kids from bad neighborhoods can come on campus and trick-or-treat from room to room, instead.

I had to pretend I'm not home a long time ago, where's the fun in that? I love to give the candy out, and try to scare the bigger kids (especially teens, they're really good sports for that) I like to let the smaller tots think they've surprised or scared me, they get a charge outta' that. Yep, good stuff, people running around to everybody's house; it's such a fun holiday, it gives Christmas a little competition.

We have candy and leave the lights on but never get any trick or treaters.

It's fun to give out candy to the kids! We always give out candy until a certain point, then just leave the bowl outside when we don't want to be bothered anymore.

growing up we never gave candy. Mom would turn off the lights. I try to make halloween fun for my kids, so we give candy.

We decorate every year, buy a big bowl of candy, and wait for the little ones to show up, last year we got three little goblins & witches. The world is too scary for little monsters these days. It makes me sad.

i decorate the house carve at least 3 pumpkins and give out a ton of candy. when i was a kid i loved it and i want the kids to have a fun time. i love seeing all the costumes too

I'm never home because I have always had a little one to take trick or treating. I'm sure we don't get many out here in the middle of nowhere anyway.
