Powerful and Continuing Nationalism
Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottoes, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights
Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause
The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

Supremacy of the Military
Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

Rampant Sexism
The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.

Controlled Mass Media
Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

Obsession with National Security
Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

Religion and Government are Intertwined
Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

Corporate Power is Protected
The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

Labor Power is Suppressed
Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed .

Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts
Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts.

Obsession with Crime and Punishment
Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.

Rampant Cronyism and Corruption
Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

Fraudulent Elections
Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

i don't understand whether you are attempting to troll Christians or if this is a typical question. i think of it is ridiculous that some people who seek for somewhat some potential in this us of a (study: Santorum) carry forth small government and freedom, whilst they push their non secular perspectives on all human beings. He needs to restrict porn, ban gay marriage, ban abortion, etc. yet preaches small government. extremely hypocritical to me. i assume you ought to look at a Santorum presidency as an attempt at a Christian Theocracy. Santorum likes to cite a learn the place those born with married mothers and fathers have a lots larger possibility of turning into efficient and residing above the poverty line. He says that marriage is the difficulty right here. by making use of Santorum's good judgment (in case you ought to call it that): Marriage fixes poverty, hence extra marriage will restoration poverty. does not gay marriage help this difficulty? extra marriage = much less human beings born into poverty. so a strategies as your question is going, i don't understand of a Christian Theocracy that exists in the international on the instant. the version between a Christian Theocracy and a Muslim Theocracy may be the version in those religions, i assume.

Americans can vocally express their opinion. Cindy Sheehan (spelling) has been protesting all along. She would not be able to do that in Iran. Also the American majority put Bush in office so he is actually in theory reflecting what the majority feels ( I don't believe that). The Iranian President actually has no power, he is just a figure head (or so says my Iranian friends). American Presidents weild a great deal of power though. Also the Iranian President probably does believe to the extreme in his religious beliefs, but I think Bush uses releigion as a political card. He may believe to a certain extent but power and money overrules that basic belief.

There is no difference. The Bush junta as well as the regime of Ahmadenijad are extremists and fascists with their own flavor. We in the U.S. are not a bit better. In the meantime it is legal to torture people, holding them without charge, disregarding the basic principles this country was build upon and what have you.

In six years the Bush junta has transformed this formerly known as great country in the world's largest prison and is not letting go. It would come as no surprise to me if Bush would declare martial law in 08 and declare himself Puppetdent for life. Then cons you will earn what you have sown. The third Reich isn't gone for that long, but still you haven't learned. Remember ... it was YOU who destroyed this country.

This is NOT CONsipracy. these things are true. all you have to do is a search on things like JESUS CAMP, New World Order, or see some of the films made of the Christian right on how to take over state and local politics. If you don't believe me, GOOGLE it. you'll be AMAZED at what you find. AND this is NOT liberal media either. this is actual footage of the people like Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, and that Christian Coalition guy, (can't remember his name).

Undermining women? How so? Do women in American get executed when they're raped? That comparison is actually obscene. Well, several of the others are as well. Talk about hypocrisy.
