Of course you will get answers saying there needs to be a good balance, but if you want to know who is more important, it has to be the defense. If your defense keeps rattling the other side it will give you all the momentum. No team ever won a championship with an average defense, but teams have won with an average offense and a terrific defense. That shows you that championship winning ( and hence game winning) teams need a great defense.

Both.Which is why the Bears are going to win the superbowl this year.
They have the best defense in the league,and can stop anyone.
They finally have an offense with Rex Grossman healthy and playing.So you should watch their game for the definition of a perfect football team.!!!

You have to be able to stop your opponent.
Simply put, the offense can't play defense but defense can score points.

it is about both...your offense needs to score points, while your defense needs to keep the other team from doing the same...if either is lacking, you are in for trouble (unless the other team is horrible in both areas)
