...with the home tests - should you wait until after you expected to have your period, or can you test it earlier? I know there are some tests that detect earlier than others. Is there a nurse out there who would know if you conceived, could a test be accurate days later? Need serious answers! Thanks.

I was able to tell with both my pregnancies with EPT though, First Response wasn't accurate for me, 7 days before my missed period. Most tests recommend that you wait until the day of your missed period, but that they are slightly less accurate up to 5 days before your missed period...I ovulate on the 11th day instead of the 14th as most women do and I believe that's the reason that I am able to test early. The safest thing to do is to wait until the day you should get your period...OR count 14 days forward from the FIRST day of your last period, which is the day you would ovulate on average, and then count 12 days forward from that. Technically, a test should be accurate 12 days after ovulation...if you know when you ovulate, you could get more accurate results as well.... be sure to buy a 2 pack of more than 1 brand of test.

Ok.

Some tests market themselves as being accurate, possibly, 4 days before your period is due. And, in the box insert, it says, if you get a nagative result you may just not have enough pregnancy hormone in your urine and to test again in a few days with the first morning urine where hormones are more concentrated.

Early tests, really, are just marketing tools to sell more pregnancy tests. What every pregnant woman trying to conceive needs to learn is PATIENCE. You need patience to be a parent. You're also going to need the money you're spending on pregnancy tests to have a decent maternity leave. And, if you don't get pregnant this month, what's the problem? You'll have to have more sex next month? Just do as much of it as you can before you have kids...because there will be little enough of it after you do.

With the little home tests you can detect a bit earlier. Normally after about a week. You will need to try to do a couple of them however. My girlfriend, who was trying to get preganant, tested a week after her husband got home. It came out negative the first itme then positive right after that. A day later she tried it again and it came out positive once more. She made an appointment at the doctor, who told her to come in a few weeks later, finally gave her an answer of "POSITIVE!".
I hope this helps you.

I tested four days before the first day of my period, just cuz I'd been feeling a little different. it came back positive. just so ya know, I took one a week before that and it said negative. I thought I'd already been pregnant for at least a month. but a friend told me to wait a week and take another one. so I got the clearblue digital and it was positive four days before I missed my period. as for knowing days after you think you've conceived. no way. you'd have to wait at least a few weeks before you would know anything. sperm swim around in there for days after you have sex. you might not actually get pregnant for three days after you have sex. til the sperm finds the egg. then you have to wait for the hcg to build up to show in a test. My test at four weeks after I thought we conceived was negative the one at 5 came back positive. so wheneve you're thinking you conceived I would wait til 4 1/2 - 5 weeks later. good luck.

I was able to tell for sure 11 days after I conceived using the Answer brand home test. That or clear blue easy, those are the two that did it for me and I found out way early! Good luck to you.

I'm not a nurse. I don't even play one on TV. But I know you are correct when you say that there are some that can detect it earlier than others. I would say go to your nearest Target or Walgreens and read what it says on the box. It will tell you exactly when you can use it. Good Luck! :)

Some people need to stop being rude to this lady asking a question, if you don't like her question then don't answer it! She's allowed to have as many kids as she wants its her life!
