The influence-peddling scandal involving convicted Republican lobbyist Jack Abramoff also resurfaced, with a congressional committee report showing many more White House contacts with Abramoff, who has pleaded guilty to conspiracy and fraud and is cooperating with a federal corruption probe.

"An aide to White House political adviser Karl Rove resigned on Friday after the report said she passed classified information to Abramoff while accepting tickets to sporting events from him."

If I were going to sell out my country I think it would take a hell of a lot more than box seats to get me to part with my morals. So, what price are your morals?

your_missing_a_screw, are you perhaps suggesting it's okay to trade classified information for box seats as long as it's nobody's business?

No money could buy it. Integrity, and honor are all we have as individuals that have real value. An old saying in my family is always be able to look in the mirror and like what you se, because the only one you truly have to live with is yourself.

I love the "No Price" diatribe that dominates this question.

I would bet my savings that most of the so called moral giants on this forum would sell out in under 5 minutes. If I were to apply some Presidentially Approved Torture to them.

Say a red hot branding iron on wet oily flesh so the sizzle is at a maximum. I big red hot iron with a BDT brand for Bush Detainee Torture. SShzzzzzzzzz SShzzzzzzzzz

Oh yeah there goes the moral high ground.

Go big Red Go

I'm a teacher, and always in a position where students/parents want to buy grades. Hasn't happened to me personally, but I know of a teacher where the parent came up and started thumbing out 100's, telling the teacher to do whatever they could to make sure Johnny or Suzy did good.

Of course, that teacher said no.

Unlike politicians, we are only charged with educating children. However, any person in a position of holding public trust should have the utmost moral responsibility, and those morals should not be for sale, period.

There are plenty of people in this country that can run the government in a respectable manner. It is up to the voters to get them in office.

confident i've got heard of it. Its unlawful, it is stealing. this is pathetic. Your pal should not be cheating merchants to get merchandise she is in simple terms too low priced to pay the common cost for. If that have been my pal i could turn her in, yet then i understand my acquaintances are extra ethical than that. If I have been you i could heavily evaluate what variety of a individual your pal is and in case you extremely want a theif on your existence.

When the News Media and Democrats discovered how many Democrats were involved with Abramoff, they shut up about it.

I am an internal auditor and as such, I make a living on my values and ethics. If I lost those, I would lose my livelihood, my self-respect and the career I love.

Wow two thumbs down!!! Is it that people don't like auditors or do they doubt my sincerity? My conscience is clear so I won't be losing sleep tonight. I treat all my clients with respect and professionality so...let's just agree to disagree.

there should be no price on morals, but we are not all raised the same, some would sell out for a fine meal, others want a mansion....

Never ever part with your morals. Nothing is worth the price to part from what you believe in.

I've been told I'm pretty cheap, so I guess it wouldn't take much. Maybe a house speaker position would do it.
