If life embodies all sorts of opposites that are considered neutral (hot/cold, light/dark, masculine/feminine), then why are things supposed to be only good but not bad, and only loving but not hateful? Didn't the creative force make all of these things? I'm not saying I agree, it's just something that I wonder about and would like some input. I'd like more philosophical than religious answers.

Darth Vader was necessary to bring balance to the universe, right?

Good/bad, wrong/right, left/right, up/down, hot/cold these are all words invented by humans to quantify and identify their existence. Humans are a part of nature, so this is natural.
That being said humans are a minority and a insignificant one at that.
The human desire for all to be right, good or fair is not only unrealistic, it is a fallacy. Humans consciously seek out and focus on the negative as a means to validate themselves.
Bad or undesirable situations provide the stimulus necessary for learning and change.

First off... you do know that Darth Vader is like a FICTIONAL character, right?! lol=P
Seriously, it's not unhealthy/ unnatural to want some kind, tenderness & heart from/ for everyone.
I mean (world peace) why else would that be the staple answer for every single beauty queen?!
However having said that, as you've pointed out, the world would seem lopsided due to too much good outnumbering the bad or vice versa.
There's sugar & spice as well as a yin & a yang to everything else in life - to be equal. Balance.
What's most important is that the individual in question should know their own limitations, and try not to be too extreme in their ways and strive for balance in their lives.

You are probably right but the fact is that most people just want a good life with no dramas of their own disadvantaging them in any form ie physical, mental or moneterial but if it happens to some unknown being eg semi-slave in South east asia working for Nike then no one really cares because humans are infinently driven by greed and survival instinct however different it may be from our ancestors instincts.

Sure why not? There's no reason why people can't be good and its even more obvious that this is at least a desireable natural and healthy thing even if we can't achieve it perfectly.

We don't need villains to make the good guy look even gooder, thats just a hollywood trick. Its a big lie that we need evil in order to have good. Good and evil are NOT opposites, they are choices. People are not good or bad its their choices and their actions that are good or bad.

It is a natural desire for people to desire others and the world to be "good." The trick is to find out what "good" means. As we exists in the physical universe, we live in a relative world. What's good for you may not be for another--granting the circumstance one is in the moment.

Yes, the creative force made all of these things for us to experience things as they are. How could we know what cold is without knowing what hot is? When we all cease to exist (I don't mean physical death--but annihilation of the ego), we go back to our source--which is beingness.
