What's the best way to clean stripped pine furniture?

I have plenty of old stripped pine but it needs cleaning and polishing.

if it is stripped it is in the white that means you can just wax using a coloured wax or varnish or use danish oil if you mean to clean it use warm water and soap and a cloth but this will rais the grain a little better to wrinse the cloth well and quicly dry ithe furniture as soon as you have cleaned it. If you mean to strip it use nitromors yellow or green depending on the finish you have on it ie paint or varnish use a fine 000 wire wool and gloves as the chemicle in these strippers is nasty on the skin best of luck DO NOT SAND o the Amateurs that give these answers

You'll definitely need to sand off the clear coat so that the new stain will penetrate into the wood. After sanding wipe down the piece with a "tack cloth" to remove the fine particles then stain and reseal. Tip: When you're ready to varnish, lightly polish the piece with #000 (fine) steel wool between coats. This will even out any brush strokes and provide subsequent coats a good base. Don't forget to wipe off the loose particles!! :)

For cleaning you could use sugar soap or a specially made branded solution. Good DIY shops have wooden surface cleaners. I am assuming that is in reasonable nick. To eliminate built up material you could apply it with very fine wire wool but do make sure and rinse the surface off after or you'll get rust spots !!

if you still have a little paint in the grain i recommend using medium grade wire wool and water based paint sripper. Then 'Bri wax' the wood with wire wool and polish off with cloth. Clear wax would be best as the wood should already have a rich colour.

Mild Soap Detergent in Warm Water and a Damp Cloth(+Plus Elbow Grease!).
If heavy soiling is apparent then use Fine wire wool dipped in white spirits-Clean and finishes Nicely!
