its unethical to sell to ANY country because they may only need 50% of the weapons that they ask for... then sell the rest on to another country which is corrupt, who wud sell some on to terrorists or who ever.
but ethics go out of the window when 600 million £ is waved in tony blairs face (the ****)

lots of countries rely on the weapons industry to keep their economy floating and yes it is immoral but its been going on from the 1800s and no matter what you say it will still go on

Hi >
Oh dear that Q is a big one..
I personally have a small rifle for vermin, and make a neat pie out of things, but I hate killing for just for the fun of it.
However, my mother was involved in selling Rapier missiles to various parts of the globe, and although never used in anger, it aided the Brit economy.
So where do you draw the line in the sand ?
I, too, have worked within the military, and found selling computer stuff to friendly countries a good notion.
But I would not promote sales to "dodgy" governmemts.
Not antagonistic, I trust, but sensible.

I agree with you. The weapons developed by a country should be used to protect that country, not for sell so another country can use your own technology against you.

For the most part, countries don't actually sell weapons. Countries buy weapons. There are many companies which produce and sell weapons. It's hard to tell them who they can and can't sell those weapons to.

Yes, it is immoral.

I agree entirely, but we all know US finances Israel because of the Jewish vote. Thats just one example. Then Russian supplies arms to middle east countries. There is so much going on that we know nothing about - morals don't come in to politics and never have.

Sometimes people need weapons, farmers for example need a gun in case some dangerous animal starts attacking the sheep or something.

Unfotunately it is a multibillion dollar industry, so it won't be going away any time soon. But I agree with you.
