Everyone has the right to freely practise his religion and generally live the way he wants as long as if he doesn't harm others. This is written in the 2nd and 4th paragraph of our constitution (in Germany) and I am very much convinced in it. I also don't mind when the Muslim women wear headscarfs.
I had a friend from Egypt who studied here, she wears headscarf and she also does the Muslim prayers, when I spent time with her and it was time for her prayer she did it in my presence and I waited for that time, then we could continue to speak.
I think it is really ridiculous if someone wants to prohibe people to do their prayers, this would really be a severe oppression of other religions. And it is also ridiculous if people want to prohibe others to have a beard. Such things really have to be personal choice. Otherwise we would not be better than Taliban who punished men if they didn't have a beard.

The right to personally held religious beliefs is one of the cornerstones to a free society. And so is allowing one to practice these beliefs, as long as it does not infringe on the rights of others.

I've worked with Muslims and never seen an employer deny the right to praying on schedule, religious days off, etc. The only sticking point may be the beard in certain situations, for example in a lab or industrial setting where one is required to shave enough to allow a seal on an oxygen mask in the event of an accident. But that is a career choice more than anything.

That doesn't mean that the individuals aren't harrassed by others, but every time I've seen it, the offenders have been punished. I'm sure that is not always the case, however.

I live in the United States.

Ma sha Allah, sister you're very sensible. I am a born Muslim and I have come to this end after years of considering and considering. Our Deen has been diminished to mazhab. Muslims supply extra value to rituals as an alternative than to spirit. How one is going approximately praying or fasting and minor sunnah, has obtained undue value, however Love of Allah, the ones whom He loves and those that Love are not more the factors of Muslims. Dealings of a well Muslim, ought to be well. But men and women consider that repeating mindlessly a few prayers or zikr will take them to paradise. No sincerity, piety and determination are viewed integral. I consider the conventional ulemaa have now given up their tasks and say what's the public call for, politics, sectarian divide and blaming men and women of bidaa' and so forth have end up core in their awareness. Intelligent men and women such as you, owe it to Ummah to consider and think about and convey the outcome in their exertions earlier than traditional Muslims. Look at Iqbal, Syed Qutub, syed maududi, Dr Hamidullah, Dr Harun Yahya and so forth who've opened new home windows of imaginative and prescient without problems by means of considering at the mild that's Islam

They're absolutely entitled to worship and live their lives as they choose. One of the most important aspects of being a human being is being tolerant of and respecting peoples' right to be different to ourselves, in whatever way that may be. This is what makes for a healthy, balanced and diverse society. One of the wonderful things about living in England is the multi-cultural society we have, and we should celebrate our diversity; the differences between cultural roots and customs are fascinating and the similarities are fundamental and absolute - we're all human beings.

I live in the UK.
