Yes Beckham is a good player and a great team leader... but why as a nation do we pin all our hopes on one player it's not fair and it's not right..... John Terry is an excellent player and plays a major part in the standard played by England but he's put on a back burner, in place of the likes of Beckham and Rooney, or strikers in general... all of whom end before their time for they can not live up to their own (newspaper built) standards... next match 4-4-2 squad diamond formation in order... Rob's, Nev, Cole, Terry, Ferd, Gerrard, Wright-Phil, Harg, Lamp, Defoe, Down.... from the ones who can play in the next match and it don't look to bad to me...this formation is mine and is not how it is set for the next match

David Beckham is one of the most overrated men on the planet.
David Beckham takes brilliant free kicks and crosses. But is he really up to it ? He barely trains anymore and he'd be tired out before half time. Lampard and Gerrard are shite at the moment. Don't bring back the old ones. TRAIN THE NEW ONES! We need Joe Cole, Lennon and DEFOE!!!!!!

Beckham will never play for England as long as McLaren is boss and quite right too. He is a liability. Remember against Argentina? Sent off, game lost, down to Beckham. Remember Brazil? England 1-0 up, 2 mins to half time, Beckham shits himself in the tackle and jumps out of the way. Brazil recover the ball and score. England out, down to beckham.

No. And Joe Cole is injured so is Lennon.
Beckham has a good free kick, thats it and he brings a whole media circus with him. Look at Real Madrids bench, thats where you will find Beckham, not in an England shirt. He was a good servant but his time has been and gone, 3 abysmal world cups.

Yes!!! Bring the Beck Back
Play Walcott, Wright Phillips, Lennon or Joe Cole
Take Rooney off - he's an over-rated player who has had so many chances to prove himself and failed miserably every time

beckham should return to raise team morale after the draw against macedonia but i see lennon and wright phillips as the solution for the right and joe cole and downing for the left.

Bring back Beckham and get rid of Mclaren. the england game was one of the most dire that I have seen and they did not seem to have a plan "B". Lampard good league player but useless at international level. Rooney is loony anyway, give him the early bath.

England still needs Beckham's leadership skills and his experience. For me I think Becks can still deliver for England, remember we are talking about the best free kick taker of his era,so don't compare Becks with the likes of Lennon,it's experience we are talking about here and that's what England lack at the moment.
