Any help appreciated. My sons car broke down last night and need to fix himself, no money to pay somebody. Any specific websites or someone who knows.

i own a repair shop, and i,ll try and take you trough it the best i can,,first jack up the car and remove the wheel from it,then remove the large nut that you see in the middle of the axle on it remove the brake caliper and the bracket that holds it on,then there's a bolt on the bottom ball joint that goes all the way through the joint remove it,now tap the end of the axle with a hammer and a piece of wood on it to protect it from thread damage this will loosen it up ,now you have to take and drop the lower control arm down on it and this may take a little effort to do ,the bottom ball joint must come out of it in order for the lower control arm to go down some,,once this done ,you just have to remove the axle from the outer hub,and then give it a good jerk and it will pop out of the trans mission part of it,,and that's it ,you just have to get it out of there and then you remove the whole thing, just remember how you done all of this because it all has to put back step by step,,good luck to you,i hope this help,s you.,PS you can hit the inside of the axle next to the transmission to loosen it ip,,it seems tight but it will come out of it good luck.

C.V. Axles/CV shaft on a front wheel drive vehicle require special
tools such as an Impact Wrench etc... and the outer axle nut is
usualy torqued in excess of 200ft. lbs. and you can damage the
Final drive seal on the inboard side when removing and installing
the shaft. You will have to disassemble part of the front suspension to get the outer CV joint out of the hub.... I would
suggest getting on the phone and finding a Clutch Repair shop
because they will be the most experienced on this repair and
usually cost effective also... Good Luck

I had to alter the motor in my 89 honda accord, and the simplest component for me to do replaced into drop the completed front end. (jack the physique off of the front end) from there, each and every little thing replaced into accessable.) in case you're taking this attitude you will probably could disconnect the steerage linkage (could be a small plate interior the motor vehicle, on drivers floorboard which you will take off and would have a U-joint connecting the linkage to the steerage rack) for my area it truly is lots much less complicated in case you haven't any longer have been given all the suited a thank you to paintings on the motor vehicle with. (eg. cherry picker) solid success

Dodge man is good, except you will need a strut spring compressor to keep the strut from scoping out too far to get the lower ball joint out. Parts stores sometimes rent out the tools when you buy parts from them. Notably Autozone.

Can try autozone.com Is supposedly a repair section there. Or can try alldatapro.com. CV's aren't that difficult. But is hard to say with what tools you might not have. Good luck.
