You should tell her, thats what friends are for, maybe she should try wearing the eyeliner different, just a little bit on the outside and mascara.

No offence to you, but having a long face does not mean that eyeliner doesn't look good. In fact it's often quite the opposite, as it draws attention away from the long face and to the eyes. If your friend puts it on too thick, then that is different and nothing to do with how long her face is, so your question is dumb. Take care.

I have a long face and It the question should not be if she should wear eyeliner or not. It has nothing to do with the length of the face. What color is she putting on and how much? It she putting it on too thick or putting it under the eyelash or right above the eyelash? The new thing I am told is to put the eyeliner on the top lid only. I am blond and you cannot see my eyelashes and if I put on a little eyeliner it brightens my face up, along with the mascara.
It is OK for your friend to wear eyeliner, just watch how she applies it.

Well I think you should bring up to her that you would really like to go see a beutician to get a make up lesson. Tell her you would like her company. Or make it a group even and go. But these people are great at knowing what looks just right for different faces then if it looks good complement her and say "I have never seen you look as good as you do today, you should do this all the time" Try not to single her out! It might work and it would be a great "girls date out"

Liner looks bad on anyone that doesn't apply it right for their particular face. Chances are that she needs a professional to show her how best to apply it for her face. Also...there could be other factors that make her appearance seem askewed. Folks with long faces have a particular problem and it usually is more associated with hair style. Hair style can reflect a longer face especially if her hair is long. She needs a style that shortens her face with volume on the sides of her head not the top. Long hair makes your face appear longer. Hieght on the top has the same effect. As a gift...pamper your friend and take her to a professional salon with a make-up artist.

Depends on what kind of eyeliner she's wearing. It depends on what her other facial features are like. For me, I've got a long face I can't wear black eyeliner, but lighter colours work for me, such as brown or a dark non-metallic turquoise-y colour.
Friends should be honest with each other. Tell her to experiment with other colours and see which one looks best.

Eye liner and face length don't really have much in common.
Something that affects the way the length of how your face appears is more like hair style, like long and straight hair hanging down the side of your face is not very becoming.
Maybe you need to study her more closely to see what exactly it is about her that is unbecoming to her face and then gently suggest for her to try something different.

I don't think that it is the shape of her face that matters so much, but the shape of her eyes. If she has very prominent eyes, she probably doesn't need so much. But, if you think that the eyeliner doesn't look good on her, tell her. But don't tell her that her face is too long. She probably already knows that.

It's not her long face but the shape & size of her eyes. Each eye shape requires a different style of eyeliner.
You 2 should get a makeover.. many are free. MaryKay does them, many of the department stores do too. They can help you get your best look. Eyes, face shape coloring etc.

I would tell her. Just tell her she looks better without it. Maybe she needs to apply it different. It has nothing to do with her long face though. Shes probly just not doing it right, for her face.
Maybe you should try doing it for her.
