The SysAdmin can change your password but they do not see the text of it in the Admin tools. As somebody else pointed out. Anybody with admin access to your machine including yourself if you leave the computer alone and logged in assuming you have admin access on your own machine can use a password cracker and get all of the passwords on your machine.
What I suggest doing is have 3 passwords. The reason is some sites are more important than others and have variious levels of security. I use one password for the average site. If I log into mlb.com or to forum or to any site I feel might be less secure or it really doesn't matter if I get hacked on that site, then I use my default password.
For logging into my machine, websites like email, and other more important sites I have a a specific password I use for these more secure sites.
Then for my bank and a few other sites I have yet another password. I use this for VERY few sites. Only really important ones and NEVER use it on something like email that might pass my password in the clear.
This way if somebody gets ahold of my less secure passwords the worst they can do is damage my email or get me in some mess by pretending to be me from my email. They will not have access to important records or financial data. If they get my default password the worst they can do is make a nasty post under my name. They cannot even log into any of my machines. You can add tiers but 3 is all the passwords I can comfortably remember myself. I change them every 2-3 months.

no longer until that's some honestly guessed password. Password hackers which would be counseled by some place self belief in susceptible passwords to artwork. If the password is robust it's time to repair VIsta.

No, not directly.
However, the administrator can do *anything* that's doable on your computer. Including change the password to one s/he knows, try to crack the password (if it's a weak one), install a key capturing program that records your password as you type it, and so on.
If you don't trust your adminstrator, then you can't trust any machine administered by him/her.

Administrator has access to all areas of your computer, if you regularly change your password it could be difficult to track.
Administrators also have their own passwords that can access any computer and any user account.
if your computer is on a network then they can access it remotely this can be for routine maintenance or if you (or anyone else) are suspected of using the computer for illegal purposes then they can nail you sometimes without your knowledge.

Is it owned by the company or did you purchase it. If it is a personal computer I would not use the same password on my personal accounts that I use for the company.
