First make sure they are plugged into the correct port and that they have power (if required). Next go to Control Panel ==> Sounds and Audio Devices and check the volume levels, making sure the Mute checkbox is not ticked.

If that wasn't your problem, try reinstalling your sound card drivers. Also, if you've had on-board sound (and its not what you want to use now), make sure it is disabled in your BIOS.

thats easy. just reinstall the drivers for sound card. If there is a CD that came with your computer try the first, but it not try going the windows update and click custom.

Are you shure you pluged it in the right place? if you are then you need to reinstall drivers
