Oh my goodness - what a blessing! 99 years old and still going strong!
Well - since your grandmother has everything she needs, as I'm sure your family and friends will all spend some time with your grandmother on this special day, I would just suggest getting your grandmother a nice b-day card and some flowers. Otherwise, just enjoy sharing this day with your very special grandmother. Please wish your grandmother a happy birthday for me!
___________
HAINES - I found your reply to this post deeply insulting. For the LIFE of me, I don't understand people like you - just ready and waiting to insult people. What - did you feel BETTER after you replied the way you did???? I feel very, very sorry for you. Just remember though - karma is a b*tch.

Give her yourself for the day! Ask her what she would like to do. Maybe she has a favorite restaurant, where the two of you could go to.
When my Aunt turned the 90, our family composed a list "90 Things We Love About You" and read it to her on her birthday. If your family has never done that, it gives everyone a chance to tell the good memories about her and in return, she gets to really hear from her family, all the things you Love about her.

wow, 99, Timothy's suggestion of a hug is so right, but gentle, old bones get frail. Pictures Of all the great great grandchildren aranged in a photo album. A family tree of her immediate family.

How about a gift certificate for a local grocery. Or stamps. Somethings you can always use. Maybe just go over and make her dinner and clean up and rent a movie. I'm sure she'd appriciate the time spent with her.

plan a little get together for her and play cards and eat and just haveing fun. I wouldn't make it a surprise party though considering her age. What does she like? Does she like poems? maybe you could get her a couple poem books. and write her a poem yourself. Does she collect stuff? Get a family picture done. Im sorry I am trying to think but my mind went blank ok well I hope you find your answer. take care buh bye.

Why not make a huge Photo Album of her huge Family? My Nan is always asking for Photos so that she can see us more everyday as she says it brightens up her day! Gather all your family around and start posing for pictures with your nan in them, then have them all printed and put into a pretty photo album.. maybe even a few put in frames for her to hang on her walls? x

give her the gift of your company! go to her house, sit with her, and talk with her. Ask her what it was like when she was a little girl. Ask her to tell you an old family story. You'd be amazed at the wonderful things that she knows, and the things she has seen!

Make her favorite dish or dessert and just sit down with her and ask her questions about her life. She may have something great to share that may make an impact with your life. Bring a new deck of cards for afterwards.
