you are using light to communicate right now - the pixels on your commputer screan contain light of various wavelengths.

The reflected sun has been used for communications for thousands of years (heliograph). Alexander Graham Bell. Check the first link below for more. Also the second link provides these bit of information.

What about morse code? That is a series of long and short blinks of light to convey a message. Advantages that you can send a message quickly over a long distance but disadvantages may be if it is really sunny or foggy!

The answer which included optical fibres was great, but with simple messages consider:

Indicators on a car.
Lighting on an aircraft runway
Traffic lights

Advantages: clear, crosses languages and cultures.

Disadvantages: requires electricity (doesn't work otherwise). Line of sight only. Can be blocked by weather conditions.

There are many examples.
Ships have red light on their port side and green on their starboard to communicate to other ships which side to pass at night.
Police cars have flashing blue lights to warn of their approach.
Beacons were used to pass messages of invasion quickly across country.
Fibre optic cables carry complicated light messages to conects phone services and computers

Good thing. It's fast.
Bad things, it's line of sight so can be blocked by trees, hills etc.
Fog, cloud rain etc. can block it unexpectedly.
There aren't too many disadvantages of fibre optics. They can be difficult to join well but that's about it

yes by using optical fibers.the advantage of this is that millions of messages can be sent in a small amt of time.
An optical fibre is a thin, transparent fiber, usually made of glass or plastic, for transmitting light. Fiber optics is the branch of applied science and engineering concerned with such optical fibers.

Optical fibers are commonly used in telecommunication systems, as well as in illumination, sensors, and imaging optics.

An optical fiber (American spelling) or fibre (British spelling) is a cylindrical dielectric waveguide that transmits light along its axis, by the process of total internal reflection. The fiber consists of a denser core surrounded by a cladding layer. To confine the optical signal in the core, the refractive index of the core must be greater than that of the cladding. The boundary between the core and cladding may either be abrupt, in step-index fiber, or gradual, in graded-index fiber.

Yes of course. The light it's just a wave and it can communicate messages. For example, the infrared devices.

at first you should attempt to stay calm as rigidity ought to debris you up. you have left it exceptionally overdue, in spite of if it is not worth beating your self up over. at first bypass by using your syllabus lists and hit upon the biggest factors and techniques which you should revise, itemizing key terms which you should be taught the meaning of. making a rapid checklist will make it lots much less annoying for you to confirm how lots progression you're making, to maintain issues in share, and to maintain focussed, yet do not spend extra suitable than say 10 minutes in this. Secondly revise in a million/2 hour chunks with in simple terms your components, yet no different distractions, exceptionally the internet! Be strict approximately purely working for a million/2 an hour at a time, in spite of in case you sense such as you are able to bypass on, as a million/2 an hour is the optimal concentration time. After this a million/2 hour, flow away out of your workspace and take a quick wreck (even 5 minutes listening to song or getting a snack or something is all you should recharge your concentration stages for the subsequent stint). don't be tempted to stay conscious all evening. you will tire your self out and doubtless discover which you be taught little or no by using bombarding your self with education in this state. remember that the examination paper provides you with a clue of certainly one of those answer you should furnish, by using the kind of things disbursed to each answer. don't be tempted to spend a while on a question that could purely be worth a pair of things. good success!

The remote on my television.
The advantage is that I do not have to get up.
The disadvantage is that my wife pinches it to watch soppy programmes.
Mirrors using the sun rather than light sources have been used - the Heliograph - but are as unreliable as the weather!

One example of simple light communication would be traffic signals. Advantage is that it makes traffic smoother. Disadvantage: when it malfunctions.

you can send messages using the suns reflection in a mirror. Or ships used to send messages to other ships using blinking lights.
