Go to the device manager and unistall the ports, then reboot the computer, this reloads the drivers.

cl Start
cl Settings
cl Control Panel
cl System
cl Hardware
cl Device Driver
R-cl on the item to be checked. Click Properties.
That will tell you if the item is working properly.

To update the driver:
Start, Settings, Control Panel, System, Hardward, Device Driver
click the icon for the item you want
click the “update driver” button on the toolbar.

yes you need to run Windows updates. make sure you can connect to the Internet and then click the start button scroll to windows updates and click on that this will take you to an update screen follow everything it tells you when it comes to the screen that tells you to scan for updates do what it says then it will give you two options (express or custom) click on custom when it finishes scanning you should look to the left of the screen and you will see (software, hardware and critical.) you will have to highlight all of the software and hardware updates individually but the critical you wont. if this doesn't work you may have a problem with the motherboard.

Try troubeshooting them from Device Manager. Either that or re-install the drivers (either from a disc or from the Internet).
