Im reading Cathedral by Raymond Carver and need help?

I need to write a 500-750 page essay on the theme of Cathedral. Yet I cant seem to place it. Or even think of that much words to write on Cathedral.

The theme is sight. A blind man comes to this narrow-minded (i.e. blind) guys house, and helps open his eyes a bit, leaving him not quite as near-sighted and ignorant as before.
