In spy type films there is always an acid that can eat through metal, glass and everything else. What is it stored in?

There isn't an acid that can eat through anything. Most acids can be kept in glass or ceramic containers. Hydrofluoric acid can dissolve glass (eventually) but it can be kept in polypropylene containers. Don't let that spoil your spy films.

I did this - once in my lifetime - because I had that annoying tickly cough you get at the end of a cold. I just couldn't breathe from coughing so much. Anywho, I grabbed a bottle of pop and drank it but I paid for it. I do not, however, understand people who think they have to eat lunch while shopping though. That's really sad, rude and unhealthy and it says a lot about why some people are so overweight. Now, if you've got a whiny kid and you open up a pack of crackers or something, I guess that's OK (although most parents know enough to pack something ahead of time) but you better pay for it. Also, I suppose if you want to eat a SINGLE grape to see if the bunch is sweet, that would be OK. But come on, people! Let's try and maintain some dignity!!

It doesn't actually exist as such, but really strong acids are generally stored in glass which is then stored inside a metal tub. Strong acids tend to eat through plastics and wood (and paint and hands).

Acid is normaly kept in glass jars as this is the only thing that acid takes a long time to eat through. Acid is used to etch markings on glass but cannot disolve glass as such.

All kinds of pure acid are preserved in glass. No acid can eat through glass.
