I'm a student in English, and I'm in the last year of study, and I cannot say that I'm very good in English-I mean I'm not at the level Ishould be; and i'll soon have the final exams - I need to find a way to become really proficient in English, and that in the shortest possible time

If you want to learn anything faster then you will have to follow some rules.

Don't worry, by mistakes we learn. As far as your exam is concerned I don't know how much time is left.

In short, if you want to improve speaking skills, try to listen TV news, record news then listen and try to understand difficult words. Or watch interesting movies. This is the best way.

Try to talk with friends as much as possible, if you are shy then talk in front of a mirror and record the listen later.

If you also want to improve written skill then the best way obtain previous exam questions, read them several time try to find answers in the book, this will save time. Usually questions are same from the text book but every year they twist their language.

Or there is a memory map, or mind mapping system which have several steps. I could tell you later if you need further help send e-mail to nihon94@yahoo.com subject"English" I will try my best to reply.

Wish you good luck. Never give up try and try and try.

the best way is to come to an english speaking country- you will learn almost everything in the english language within one month. If that is not possible, then you can talk with a english-speaking person.

This comes from a English as a second language person.

Read aloud passages in English everyday. Listen to the radio to correct your pronunciation. Try to speak out louder and overcome your fear of pronuncing the words wrongly. If people laugh at you, them tell them about your orgin and ask if they can speak your native language. Find more oportunities to speak and very soon, your English will be up to speed.
