Some of the answers given remind of the Pink song "Who Knew." That song makes me really sad, because I KNOW that's how everyone in a relationship feels. Despite what people tell you about your relationship, you always know you're doing what's right and that your love will last forever. And then it doesn't. Who knew? It sucks that so many loves end in heartbreak. It really does make me sad for other people when things don't work out. I personally believe that marriage is difficult enough WITH a strong foundation of God. To build a marriage on any other foundation is only setting it up to crumble. So I suppose that's how you know you've married the right person- when both of you are committed to God and therefore committed to one another. Plus the person you're marrying has to be willing to bury a body for you, no questions asked. :)

Unfortunately it takes years to know that u married the right one... its a leap of faith when u get married, theres never any certainties that it will work or not work , u just have to hope u love each other, respect one another, and both have the same views on marriage as a life long commitment to each other.. no one every knows if they'll be together 5 , 10 , or 20 years from now, as life takes turns, and people tend to change with age.. so untill u've been married for along time and ur still happy and want to be with each other a long time more, is when u know for sure ur with the right one.. but all those marriages started out as a Leap of faith, alot of love.. and instead of growing a part they grew together..

Only time will answer your question.I hope you aren't newly married and asking this. A marriage takes both partners to work and meet each other half way.Even if your marriage is having troubles you can both save it if both are willing to clear the slate, talk things over, and work together. Communication and honesty are the most important ingredients in a marriage. If you truly love one another you can solve anything out and then you'll know for sure you have married the right one.

Most people think they are marrying the right one before getting married, but thats not necessarily true, we all hope that we are....
If your happy, there is lots of love, sharing, caring, thoughtfulness for each other and each others feelings, that would be a good start.

When you look at them and get that knot in your stomach, when you leave the house and just want to turn back, when you cant bare to be away from them, when you say the same things together, when you can both laugh at mistakes, when you make love and its your name they call, and i have been married for a longtime and we both still feel the same, i got the right one :))

Your feelings should tell you this, but it turns out that isn't so, because of all the divorces.
You just plane assed don't know.
But you do know, that you should work through all of the ups and downs it has to bring in life, and if you succeed in working out all the problems that come along, and you love with all of your heart, it will more than likly be the "right one".

When u put up with his bullshit and still stick by him no matter what the outcome is: when he sheds his clothes on the kitchen floor and u pick them up: and of course it goes beyond love, thats when you know u married the right person. You have peace, even when u get into it with him, u have that peace that he is not going no where

You know because that person will always make you feel better when you are down. When you look at them you feel like you cant be without them. You just have to know that even in rough times you wont be alone because you have someone who will be there to comfort you and love you. If you dont feel that way about your partner then dont get married because it will only end in divorce.

You look on the marriage certificate. If it is his or her name on there then you married the right one.
Come ON!
Marriage is not some mystical lottery! It is WORK! Yes, it is a dirty four letter word W-O-R-K! You cannot marry "the right one" because there are at least thousands of people that you could've made a good home with. Just work on your relationship, work on improving yourself, work on learning how to love someone and be good to them and then you will have married the right one. Because the one that may not be the right one is YOU not him or her. Improve YOU and you have married the right one.

No one can really know if you married the right one.It will just take time and see what happens.If both of you get along and are happy then probably you did find a right guy or a right female depending who you are.
