I think that as the world gets smaller and problems intrude into the lives of people who cannot even understand the problems, let alone know how to solve them, more and more people will react with fear.
Leaders, in the family and the nation, can lead people to a better place than that, to embracing the future in the vision you have. As long as parents teach hatred and racism, leaders will be able to exploit that for their own short-term goals.
I think religion is one of the hugest problems we have to overcome; people feel righteous teaching hatred because of religion.

The policies meant to fight racism cause as much as they cure. People are different and there is no point pretending they aren't. This may even mean that some races of people are better at some things than others are.
Political correctness solves nothing. What we need to do is to get people to accept each others differences at face value, and stop hating. Pride in ones heritage is a good thing. I doubt there is a living sole who would not be better of for it.
Why must we insist that everyone else should see the world the way we see it? Live and let live. Learn, teach and don't be a sheep.

Well, we're no where near as racist as we used to be, we're just far more aware of it than ever before. This is double edged, on the one hand we have a deeper awareness and intolerance of racism, and on the other we tend to force people to act differently towards other races to avoid seeming racist, which in itself is pretty discriminating.
Still, things ain't so bad Even going back 50 years ago, hatred and predudice were far more commonplace! Go back even further and you'd be strung up for even talking to someone of higher social standing (well, not really, but you get the idea)
To be totally honest, I think the whole hatred thing is blown out of all proportion, people will always hate people, no matter how many centuries of coexistance we have under our collective belts, and no amount of hoping and praying will ever stop that. It's more natural than love to us.And, when you think about it, that's not such a bad thing! Many wonderful innovations have come out of hatred.
As for racism, to deny that we are all totally and completely different is racism in itself. I'm talking physically and mentally different, not necessarily better or worse, although in some departments it becomes ovbious that some races out-perform others. Where do we get off telling everyone that they are the same? That said, we should all enjoy equal social standing, unless of course we act in a manner that implies we don't deserve such treatment.

Babies are not born with hatred or racism instilled into them. Those things are taught to them by adults.
As long as the devil is in control of the Earth, there will be racism and hatred along with greed and warmongering.
We are living in the last days and the Devil has been ruling the Earth for the last decade or so. He will continue ruling the Earth until the second coming of Christ.
If Christ lives in your heart none of these things can hurt you.

Because there are a number of people who use racism, and hatred to boost their self-esteem. For some it makes them feel great, at the false belief that they are superior to others based on something as simple as the Color of their Skin. That is something your born with. You don't have to be smart, or do anything important. You just are built with a automatic advantage. Their delusional!!

There will always be hatred in the world as long as evil exists. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all be like Rodney King and just get along?

Some groups of people remain uncivilized even after living for hundreds of years amongst civilized people. How can you expect the civilized to accept the words & deeds of the uncivilized w/o becoming like them?
