well, it depends on what the password is for. the easiest way is to look over their shoulder when they're typing it :P

I agree with levita.
But if you really need this for a good reason... then there are several ways.
Of course, the obvious ones, looking over their shoulder when their typing it in...
However, there are several programs that you can use to steal people's passwords.
I dont know how to use them, and i've never had the need to use one.
Some of the programs might have the keyword "hack" in them.. so you could probably do a search on www.downloads.com
but a lot of these programs will probably cost a lot of money.
I hope your stealing the password for a reason other than to screw with them/do any kind of damage.

Hackers can and will always try doing it as long as the binary system that recognizes only 1s and 0s exist in the IT world.
Your passwords are mostly stored in 16,32 and 64 bit compresion systems OR in encrypted forms. There are free software programs that can decode these encryptions by breaking through their X-Bit N-Crypt security systems.
Email account passwords can be got in less than one day, even in one hour
A minimum of 512-bit data encryption of a 6 digit password (Alpha-Numeric) would be of some challenge to the hacker. Anything less than that would be in computing terms.....A SwordFish

Passwords are private things dont dare with 'em!
You can use DOS (Direct Operating System) to through someone's file with a password. Its very hard to explain it and for you to understand. Try to study it and it can suit your desire. I had the same desire and I got it be careful.

if there is 'secret question' option to retrieve the password, then if you know enough info about the person then you can get in..
